Mrs. Christina Jane Buie.
The many friends of the late Mrs. Christina Jane Buie, were deeply saddened to hear of her passing at the Women's College Hospital, Toronto, June 23rd, 1949. The last of the 14th Concession Township of Campbell oldest pioneers, a dear friend and kindly neighbor, her absence will be felt by all who knew her. Born October 14, 1874, in Nottawasaga, she was the youngest and last surviving member of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allan McEachern. On April 14th, 1894, she was married to William uie. They settled on the 14th Concession of Campbell where she resided until five years prior to her death, living in Gore Bay for a short time before moving to Toronto. Mr. Buie predeceased her October 21st, 1933. She leaves to mourn the loss of a loving mother, a family of two girls and four boys, namely: Thelma of Toronto; Grace, (Mrs. David Lewis) of Spring Bay; Milton and Verdan of Providence Bay; Hewson of Desbarats; Willis of Toronto; also seventeen grandchildren. Six great grandchildren. The funeral was held in the United Church, Providence Bay, was conducted by C.A.K. Cockburn, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Pimental. Hymns: "Abide With Me" and "Shall We Gather At The River". Special by Mr. Elford, "A City Four Square". Pallbearers were Austin Lewis, Wm. McDonald, Colin McDermid, J.F. McDermid, John Gordon, Norman Lewis. Internment in Grimesthorpe Cemetery. A.J. Turner and Son in Charge.

Christina married William Buie, son of Angus Buie and Marion Sarah Dallas, on 4 Apr 1894 in Gore Bay, Manitoulin Island, Ontario. (William Buie was born on 6 Dec 1858 in Duntroon, Nottawasaga, Ontario and died on 21 Oct 1933 in Providence Bay, Manitoulin Island, Ontario.)
