Thelma had 3 bouts of TB and had one lung removed. She died of pneumonia.

Thelma married Richard J. Richards on 19 Jul 1951 in Toronto, Ontario. (Richard J. Richards was born in 1908, died in 1996 and was buried in Grimsthorpe Cemetery, Manitoulin Island, Ontario.)
