August 3, 2000 Ruth King
Ruth Judd King, 78, died July 24, 2000, at the home of a son in Riverton, Utah. She was born in Grantsville, Nov. 22, 1921, to William Riley and Bessie Williamson Judd. Ruth spent her school years in Grantsville, graduating in 1940. She also attended Utah State University. She married Meldon H. King in 1941. They resided in Wells, Nev. where her husband was employed as an engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad. The Kings later moved their family to Ogden, Utah, where they resided until his death in 1998. Ruth spent most of her married life at home as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, except for a short period of time when she worked for the IRS in Ogden. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by children: Jan (Bob) Dysart of Hays, Kan., Mel King of Yelm, Wash., and Judd (Lori) King of Riverton, Utah; sisters, Claire Rosenkrans of Sandy and Margaret (Raymond) Van Noy of Camano Island, Wash. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Bill King. Funeral services were held in her LDS ward in Ogden, July 25, with graveside services following at the Grantsville City cemetery.
Ruth married Meldon Herbert King, son of Leo Nole King and Blanche Mower Winn, in 1941. (Meldon Herbert King was born on 24 Sep 1918 in Provo, Utah, died on 7 Jun 1998 and was buried on 13 Jun 1998 in Grantsville Utah City Cemetery.)
