SAMMY-CHANT, Laurie _ After a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 47, passed away on Thursday, September 16th, 2004 peacefully at home. Beloved wife of Jerome and loving mother of Miguel, Tyler, Jeremiah, Julia and Abriella. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman. Lovingly remembered by her mother Ivy and father Gordon Chant, Laurie's siblings Sherrie Chant-Vandervalk (Simon), brother Richard (Jan), sister Bonnie Chant-Kingsman (Tom), sister Merrie Jackson (Grant), Melodie Cawker and sister Kellie Fomenko (Ed). A wonderful aunt to Scott, Stephen, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Corinna, Melissa, Maryanne, Tina, Lisa, Autumn, Brons, Katie, Leeanne, Natasha and Nicholas, and a dear sister-in-law to all of Jerome's siblings. She will also be remembered by church family and her many friends. The Sammy family will be receiving friends at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave. Markham (3 lights north of Hwy. 7 on the East side), 905-305-8508, on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. for viewing, also on Wednesday September 22, 2004 from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. at Agincourt Pentecostal Church, 2885 Kennedy Road Scarborough (north of Finch on the East side). This will be followed by a Celebration Service of Laurie's life at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery on north side of Hwy. 7 just east of Markham Road (Hwy. 48). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tyler Sammy Trust Fund can be made at any T.D. Canada Trust Branch 207, Account No. 6259895.
