William Smith

 General Notes:
In the spring of 1834, his father was driving his team with a heavy load. His little boy (William) was following him and fell, when the cart passed over his body. He was considerably injured, but soon recovered again. Some years afterward he went to Canada, where he remained about six years. He returned to Truro, and followed pump making. On October 14, 1859 in putting a pump in a well, he had occasion to go down the well. The stones fell in and buried him. About four hours after he was taken out dead. He was in his 28th year of his age.
